The Olympics are not all fun and games - the business competition begins long before the athletic proceedings commence. The world's leading cities and largest multinational companies, led by business-savvy strategists and stakeholders work tirelessly and go head-to-head to secure the winning bid to serve the Olympics in lead-up to the sporting event.

Business partners and supporters for this year's Games will participate in a panel discussion focusing on the following topics:

  • Who are the official 2012 Olympic Business Partners and Supporters that make this truly global effort possible?
  • What is our region's role in this year's Olympics, and how are local businesses and athletes involved?
  • What is involved in the bidding process?
  • When do cities and companies start bidding for the next Olympic Games?
  • Where are Olympic supporters based?
  • Why would a company choose to support the Olympics?
  • How can an Olympic partner/supporter measure the short and long term return on their investment?

Panelists:

  • Nick McInnes, Director, Trade & Investment USA and Deputy Consul-General, British Consulate-General, New York
  • John McDonald, Vice President, Marketing & Communications - Americas, British Airways
  • Matt Offner, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, ARAMARK
