8:00 AM – 10:00 AM Program

200 South Broad Street
Philadelphia, PA 19102
Join us to learn how the construction and real estate development industries are on the move with a hotbed of development projects happening in the Greater Philadelphia region.

With the rise of commercial real estate and redevelopment activity in Center City Philadelphia, recent competitive incentives for businesses to relocate in Camden, NJ, and construction plans in the works for King of Prussia and Philadelphia suburbs – our region is quickly becoming an economic hub for new business ventures and job growth.

Hear from a panel of experts about the drivers of this growth and how we can sustain lucrative construction and real estate activity into the future.

Meet our expert panelists:
Margaret Carney, Associate Vice President and University Architect, Temple University
Margaret will discuss Temple University’s recently unveiled Master Plan that includes a new library, an interdisciplinary science building and a vast green space at the heart of Main Campus.

Carl E. Dranoff, President and CEO, Dranoff Properties
Carl will discuss not only his exciting projects in Center City but also his transformation of the former RCA Victor factory that has brought new life to the Camden waterfront and adjacent Cooper-Grant neighborhood

Shawn McCaney, Program Director, Creative Communities, William Penn Foundation
Shawn will focus his remarks on  how we can enhance Philadelphia’s built environment through support for better planning, design, and land use practice, model planning initiatives, and capital investments that demonstrate quality design.  He will also discuss the recently unveiled Reimagining the Civic Commons project.

Joel L. Naroff, Ph.D., President. Naroff Economic Advisors
Joel will give us the latest numbers surrounding the construction and real estate industries- how many jobs have been created over the last year, what are the current vacancy rates in the region and what does this all mean to the broader business community.

Mark Seltzer, Lead- Development Advisory Services, Jones Lang LaSalle
Mark will discuss what he’s hearing from his clients- why are they choosing Philadelphia and what can we improve on to attract more businesses to grow and build in this region.

Moderated by: Chris Terlizzi, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Commercial Real Estate Lending, First Niagara Bank
