Join us for a day of community service! The Annual Comcast Cares Day with YPC celebrates the culmination of Comcast Cares’ year-round commitment to improving communities through service. Comcast Cares Day is America's largest single-day corporate volunteer event.

This year, we will be volunteering at the Logan Elementary School. Roll up your sleeves and help support our Philadelphia schools. We will build five raised garden beds and plant herbs and vegetables to be used to teach healthy cooking classes for families and community members. We will also clean up the school property and make minor improvements that will have a big impact on the children and the neighborhood.

Breakfast will be available upon arrival along with water and snacks. Please wear work boots/sneakers, and jeans. We will provide gloves, but will have a limited supply. Volunteers will be given a Comcast Cares Day t-shirt to wear.

Background:
James Logan Elementary is located in the section Logan section of North Philadelphia. Two summers ago in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, Logan Elementary was selected by the Mayor as one of the nine participants in the City’s Community Schools initiative. This effort marks a new approach for how the City supports students and families, strengthens schools, and revitalizes neighborhoods.
