When there is transparency in government, good things happen. Transparency improves the ease of doing business, making neighborhood-based entrepreneurship more achievable while also helping established companies positively impact the local economy.

According to last spring’s PHL Neighborhood Growth Project survey of Philadelphia voters, less than half of respondents had a favorable view of our city’s government. But the City of Philadelphia has been making strides in this area by increasing data access, improving online efficiencies, and more. As the City works to incrementally improve these opportunities we need to create strong lines of communication between city government and the business community to create lasting impact and prosperity in our neighborhood commercial corridors.

At this Roadmap for Growth issue forum, hear from speakers experienced in making government more transparent at the local, state, and federal levels and discuss how these stories can apply to Philadelphia as we usher in a new Mayoral and Council term.

Putting People First at City Hall is a key policy pillar of the PHL Neighborhood Growth Project’s Inclusive Growth Agenda. Join our growing coalition of supporters: phillyneighborhoodgrowthproject.com
