[Virtual] YPC Impact: A Look at the History & Importance of Voting Rights

Wednesday, August 19, 2020
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Program

VIRTUAL EVENT
Online Only
Philadelphia, PA 19102

The earlier young people make it a habit to vote in local and national elections, studies show that the more inclined they are to continue to vote going forward. Now more than ever, as our economy and community continue to recover for the gobal pandemic and civil rights crises, it's crucial for young leaders to understand the importance of voting , exercise their right by taking to the polls, and advocate for voting rights for those whose access has historically been obstructed.

Join the Young Professionals Council and Dr. Marcela Micucci, Curatorial Fellow in Women's History, Museum of the American Revolution, as she highlights a pivotal moment in U.S. history where access to the polls was revoked for women - after earning that right decades earlier - followed by an interactive discussion on the importance of young voters, voting rights advocacy, and ways to get to the polls in the upcoming election.

This program is exclusive to YPC members. If you would like to learn more about membership, we invite you to contact tlevy@chamberphl.com or visit ypcphl.com/join.
