BABCPHL Whiskey Tasting

Tuesday, July 28, 2020
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM Program

VIRTUAL EVENT
Online Only
Philadelphia, PA 19102

You’re invited to join the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia for a virtual whiskey tasting. Learn the science of whiskey while virtually networking with international executives from various industry sectors. Analyze, examine and understand the rich, complicated taste and aroma of five different types of whiskey. Please ensure you have all of the whiskies on-hand prior to the virtual event so you can fully enjoy and participate in the tasting. The top three whiskeys listed are available in 50 ml from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board state stores. We suggest you look into purchasing sooner rather than later as they may not all be available at all stores. The Feathery and Sheep Dip are only available online.

1. Johnnie Walker Black 12 YO
2. The Glenlivet 12 YO
3. The Macallan Double Cask 12 YO
4. Sheep Dip Islay Blended Malt
5. The Feathery Blended Malt

Whiskey Tasting is the second of three BABCPHL Summer Series networking events that will be held once a month in June, July and August. The events are complimentary however, in light of the current crises, we are suggesting, if you are able, to consider making a $10 donation per attendee. This voluntary contribution will be donated in full to Project Home.

This event will be hosted by Lew Bryson. Lew has been writing about beer and spirits full-time since 1995. He was the managing editor of Whisky Advocate magazine from 1996 through 2015. He is currently a Senior Drinks Writer for the Daily Beast, and also writes regularly for Artisan Spirit and Bourbon+, and has a beer and whiskey blog, Seen Through A Glass. Bryson is the author of two books: Tasting Whiskey (Storey Publishing, 2014), a broad survey of the whiskeys of the world, their history and manufacture; and Whiskey Master Class (Harvard Common Press, 2020), a deep dive on all aspects of whiskey flavor creation. He was selected as the 2008 winner of the Michael Jackson Beer Journalism Award (Trade and Specialty Beer Media). He has served as a judge for both the American Craft Spirits Association and the Great American Beer Festival. Lew Bryson lives north of Philadelphia with his wife Cathy, and Pippin, a feisty Welsh Corgi.
