Zero to One with Peter Thiel, Co-Founder of Paypal
Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Future
Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and the first outside investor of Facebook, will join the Arts + Business Council on to discuss his new book Zero to One: Notes on a Start-up or How to Build the Future.
Thiel argues that every moment in business happens only once, so we must strive to create something new rather than imitate or improve on the success of the past. The next breakthrough startup won’t be another Facebook or Apple. Instead, startups must pioneer unknown territories; producing real value for themselves, their investors and future generations.
Zero to One asks founders to contemplate seven key questions before undertaking a new venture. These include taking a close look at your people, technology and timing; with the idea that getting one of these wrong at the outset can doom a startup before it's even begun. The event will also feature a panel of local experts discussing their own experiences as they relate to Zero to One.
Panelists to Date:
-
Jon Gosler, Founder of Market Atlas and Partner, Third Cohort Capital
-
Richard Vague, Managing Partner, Gabriel Investments
Moderator:
-
Zack Seward, Editor in Chief, Technical.ly
